Will Code For Food
It should not be a surprise that there will be a Patreon account set up for Retuner. While I want Retuner to be my legacy, I also need money. As an over 65, legally blind, cancer patient, my options to supplement my income are limited.
As stated in my Home page, at age 36 I lost my truck driver license after being diagnosed with a rare genetic defect which slowly destroys my eye sight. I did transition into computer tech support but it was all short term contract work. There was no way to build a retirement income, it was just survival money.
So I get the bare minimum Canadian Old Age Security pension. This is similar to the American Social Security. Currently just a little bit less than $2,000/month CAD, or about $1,400 USD. That covers my rent and basic utilities, water, heat, and electricity. Everything else, food, cell phone, internet, Assetto Corsa EVO, is paid from my savings. My savings are sinking faster than the Titanic.

I do not want to get into a long political rant but I can not ignore the fact the world is swinging to the political right. In Canada we have our own MAGA Republicans called the Conservative Party. Their Trump-wannabe leader is Pierre Pollievre. For decades the Conservatives have complained loudly about the “evils” of free public healthcare , abortions, gun control, and social programs, including OAS pensions. They believe public tax money should be used to subsidize the wealthy buying more private jets and yachts.
Unfortunately it seems almost certain the Conservatives will win the next election. If so Pierre Pollievre will do his best to take away my health care and make me homeless.
To be clear, I am not a woke liberal. I have never been a fan of Canada’s pretty rich boy Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau. In fact many of my personal political views could be called conservative. However I absolutely do NOT believe in subsidizing the wealthy with taxpayers money. Trickle down economics is just a bullshit theory the wealthy, and their greedy political allies, use to justify stuffing their pockets with tax dollars.
Trudeau and the Liberal’s long list of failures has given the Conservatives the opportunity they have been waiting for, a Conservative majority government. Once in power they can start to dismantle Canada’s social safety net and reward themselves, and their wealthy friends, with billions in tax money.

Retuner is not just my legacy but also my lifeline.
I am not seeking charity. I have always worked hard to earn my money. I will lay out the ideas I have for a Patreon site. I would appreciate your feedback, suggestions, and what you think is a fair price.
In the beginning…
This was just going to be a physics replacement mod for the current AC physics. However after cracking AC physics I saw the possibility of creating multiple classes and drivetrain mods. That led to needing to mod the sound files. Street cars should spend much different from racing cars, and adding turbo sounds.
And we need more backfire, there is not enough backfire.
Then it would be great to have Retuner skins for all the different classes. Plus my natural urge to want to fix/optimize models and textures. And, and, and…
It finally occurred to me that what Assetto Corsa 2014 needed was to be restomodded to Assetto Corsa Retuned 2025.
New physics, every fix and optimization known to the modding community, and updated models and textures. With the work done by Content Manage, CSP, SOL, etc., just about every aspect of AC has been fixed, modified, and improved.
The missing piece has been the cars. Trying to emulate imperfect real-world suspensions with a good, but limited, game physics engine produces inconsistent results.
Retuner changes that by retuning every car with the same formulas, algorithms, and precision. No more “bad” cars. All cars will be tuned for maximum control, feedback, and fun.
The Big Idea
Since I find myself releasing my first test release of Retuner along with EVO Early Access, I had a thought. While Kunos works to bring out the final version of EVO, is anyone interested in joining the Retuner Team to completely overhaul Assetto Corsa 2014?
A team of Users, Creators, Developers all working to keep AC 2014 alive and not rusting out in the darks corners of our computers.
USERS
The first stage of Retuner is to retune all the Kunos cars. After that the daunting task of retuning hundreds, thousands?, of mod cars. I have no idea where to begin so that is where the Users come in. Users will be able to nominate and vote for the mod cars. Then I simply start with the most popular mod cars.
Users would get early access to newly retuned cars before the public release.
I would also like to run Retuner servers for Ussers. Now I could run the servers but I really do not have the time. I would need qualified Users to volunteer to run the servers.
Due to the nature of Retuner there could be server schedules like Monday Street, Tuesday Race, Wednesday Drift, Offroad Thursdays, and Random Fridays. Random means Street, Race, Drift, and Offroad cars all on the server. Setting up and managing the rotation of the retuned cars would be a worthy challenge for the right server admins.
Creators
My first job is the physics and originally this was just going to be physics. However I think as a group we can go beyond the physics.

This is the highest tier. This is where I open up the hood and show you how Retuner works.
This should be a small group who would agree not to copy and compete with me.
